World Tourism Day and some thoughts

When we think of dream destinations to visit we always think of countries like Austria, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, to name a few. India, on the other hand, is sitting on a heap of gold and is still ignorant about it. With diverse cultures, bio-geographic regions, an enviable history India can give these countries a run for their money. But sadly India is not cashing on the opportunity. According to a report, 65 per cent of people in India are dissatisfied with the facilities available in historical places. It is seen that many places of historical importance in India do not have accommodation facilities near them. This is a big deal-breaker for all travel enthusiasts. On the occasion of World Tourism Day, I wish that the government will take initiatives about it. It's not always firepower that shows a country's might, culture is the greatest so I wish that the government will invest more in tourism.
