Lockdown violation | 27 May, 2020

I would like to draw the attention of the authorities concerned towards the callous behaviour of people during the fourth lockdown in Assam. Since there is a partial lockdown, many have taken this as an opportunity to go out and meet friends or other people as if the virus has left. There are also people who are blaming the authorities for the spread of the virus. We must remember that to control the pandemic a collective effort is required. The virus is very contagious and can spread easily. Thus no matter how suffocating we may feel inside our homes, going out for non-essential purposes is sheer irresponsibility. One must not also forget that there are many people who cannot even afford to stay at home or at a safe place due to climatic, medical or professional reasons. Hence, we should understand that having a home to live in during this time of lockdown is a privilege that not everyone can afford.
