Misuse of exchequer

Jadavpur University, Jawaharlal Nehru University and Aligarh Muslim University have of late been occupying the headlines but due to wrong reasons. These above mentioned institutions are regarded as temples. But present circumstances don’t paint a rosy picture of the universities as these institutions have become the breeding grounds of anti-nationals. Who can forget when the students of JNU protested against the hanging of mastermind of Parliament attack Afzal Guru. Placards like ‘Free Kashmir’, slogans like ‘Bharat Tere Tukre Honge’ resonated with the campuses of these universities. It is high time the authorities concerned took firm steps in curbing the lawlessness of the students. These temples of learning are financed from the state exchequer in the hope that country would be gifted with useful human resources. The current situation indicates that the public exchequer is wasted on such hooligan students. The act of resorting to vandalism and destruction of university property, public property in the name of protests is highly condemnable.
