Oil well blowout

The news of the gas well blowout at Baghjan drill site No 5 in Tinsukia district keeps many a conscious citizens of the State occupied with mulling over the plight of the people dwelling in the vicinity. Women are being seen crying in front of the media persons while recounting their sorrowful tales to them. Much damage has been caused to them and compelled to leave their homes as well. The government is taking proper care of them. So long the nationwide lockdown prevails the arrival of an expert team from Vadodara got delayed. However, the team arrived the other day, and now it is at work to mitigate the situation. Several relief camps have been set up in order to shelter the afflicted people. The prompt reaction of the Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan really deserves appreciation. The Chief Minister is also doing the needful to ensure health and safety of the people. Evidently, people have been overcome with trauma at the sudden and unexpected blowout. They will take time to come out of the same. Now, the State government is expected to show its goodwill for due restoration of these people when the situation will return to normalcy. I am optimistic that the government, in collaboration with OIL and ONGCL, will extend a helping hand to them boosting their morale and enabling them to resume their normal life.
