Plug the holes

Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal apart from other departments holds the charge of Home department as well. It is a fact that most of the police personnel, while indulging in certain corrupt practices, never think that any deed or misdeed done by them, the Home Minister too has accountability. We always come across scenes of flouting traffic rules by unscrupulous drivers including overloading of vehicles, reckless and speedy driving and parking of vehicles causing inconvenience to the passersby. Every day we come across good number of accidents due to failure of the police to control unruly drivers.

Money plays a great role in deciding a case in the police stations. The condition of the most of the police stations is deplorable and in rainy season the condition becomes worse. My question is why the police stations cannot be housed in government buildings? Why police cannot curb crime against women? Rackets of abduction and extortion involving top police officials, pending of un-disposed cases in the police stations, delay in recruitment of constables, failure of police to b cow-lifters and preventing illegal transportation of cows to Bangladesh are some of the glaring examples of how deficient our police force is. All these loopholes require plugging by degrees.
