Problem-ridden Assam

The people of Assam have long been ridden with problems, one after the other. After the anti-CAA agitation, came COVID-19 and floods. In the meantime, 'cyclone Amphan' lashed the State, leading it to experience the first wave of flood early. But we shall have to encounter these problems boldly as per the guidelines and norms set by the government for the larger interest of all. I would like to request the Government to tackle the problems jointly with the people of Assam.

We should learn to co-exist with coronavirus abiding by the norms of social distancing, mask wearing, washing hands frequently, sanitizing, exercising, and remaining confined in houses as far as possible. 'Cyclone Amphan' is a natural calamity, so is flood.

However, the anti-CAA agitation is a man-made problem which can be overcome by the Government by respecting the sentiments of the Assamese people.

Putul Sarma,

Biswanath Chariali.
