Students in dilemma

The world today is facing the biggest health risk which is coronavirus or COVID 19. By the end of the March this virus has spread over 185 countries. Because of this all education institutions have been shut. Mainly it has affected students.

As a final year student today I am focusing on entrance examination. Gauhati University and Tezpur University have decided not to conduct entrance examination this year and admit students based on their performance with qualifying examinations. I think this is not justified for us. Entrance exams are necessary for selection into an institution. The UGC declared terminal semester or final year as examination conducted by the end of the month of September. So my question is, if the government is able to conduct final year examination then why it is not helping universities to conduct entrance examination? There are plenty of procedures which can obstruct the virus from spreading like distance which could be placing the seats 1 miter apart, availability of hand wash and sanitizer in every examination centres and obligation of wearing all protective items as mask, gloves etc.

So I request to the government to take care of all these precautions and help the universities to conduct entrance examinations this year instead of admitting students based on their marks.

Bhattadev University,

6th semester.
