The enemies within

The latest confession made by Hazi Mehboob before the leading tiol news broadcaster Times Now regarding his role in disputed Babri Masjid case is bound to make all Indians raise their eyebrows. The fearlessness with which the said Hazi was speaking against one particular religion and it’s people that too in front of TV camera was a matter of serious concern. What type of secularism we often keep on talking about in India? When anyone from the majority community dares to speak against the minority people, he/she is dubbed as commul but if the reverse happens, then the said person is let off under the guise of right to opinion. Very recently our outgoing Vice President Dr. Hamid Ansari on his very last day in office opined that Muslims in India are sensing insecurity. However, during his stay at the post for a decade, he never opined or showed any concern for our Muslim brothers and sisters. Such comments must be made with a lot of restraint so that they do not harm unity and integrity of our country. Eminent educationist Dr. Hiren Gohain very recently did hold a rally along with few pseudo-secularists to protest against Hindu uprisings in the country. People’s memory is still fresh when Dr Gohain with few of his supporters objected to the construction of a war memorial on the northern bank of Dighalipukhuri in Guwahati. Truly, a former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir is right when he said there are lots of enemies within the country that are more dangerous than Chi and Pakistan.
