Tolstoy Rewritten

Esteemed readers, who, incidentally, happened to read our earlier letters under the same caption as of today that appeared in this column on August 20 and September 21 in 2002, may kindly appreciate that the said twosome was attributed to uphold the wholesomeness of the famous Tolstoy numbers ‘How Much Land does a Man Need’ and ‘The Imp and the Peasant’s Bread’ respectively. We must thank those elites in the government service sector(s) that are now and then seen rewriting Count Leo Tolstoy. While a Professor of Chemistry at Nalbari rewrote Tolstoy vide the news item appeared in the Sentinel (September 10, 2002) under the caption ‘Inebriated College Teacher’, the other day, of late, a seemingly inebriated ACS officer at Kokrajhar has updated the uprightness of the Tolstoy number ‘The Imp and the Peasant’s Bread’ very meticulously in presence of Kokrajhar DC and SP, as aired by media in both print and electronic media.
