Film actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui says he will shoot his next film in Arunachal Pradesh

GUWAHATI: Film actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui was so mesmerized after travelling to Arunachal Pradesh that he announced the next shooting of his film there.

Siddiqui was there to join the Mishmi community in celebrating the 52nd central Reh festival.

Siddiqui said that he learned about the beauty of the region from Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu’s tweet.

“My next film in the script stage now was initially planned to be shot in Garhwal, but now I have changed my decision to this Himalayan state now,” he said.

The actor also tweeted, “It ws a lifetime moment celebrating #REH Festival & knowing d rare & beautiful form of art in d mesmerising Valley of Dibang in #Anini wid d energetic & dashing CM @PemaKhanduBJP It ws n honor to spend 2 days wid u & witness ur love & care 4 ur people like an elder brother.”

The actor arrived by road from Dibrugarh, an arduous journey of about nine hours. Siddiqui had accepted the invitation to join the celebrations and also meet the Indian Army personnel guarding the frontiers while knowing the distance and bad road conditions due to ongoing works on it.

On a lighter note, the actor said that travelling to Anini from Dibrugarh reminded him of the Samuel Beckett play “Waiting for Godot”!

“All through the 12-14 hours journey I felt like ‘abhi aa jayega…abhi aa jayega’ but ‘kuch aa hi nahi raha tha!

He though said that all the troubles and tiredness flew away when he saw the glowing faces of the people waiting for him.

“You will not know but I will tell you. Nowhere in the country have I ever seen such glowing, positive and serene faces. Arunachalees are blessed and you must be proud of it,” he added.

It is important to note that Pema Khandu became the first Chief Minister ever to travel all the way by road to Anini, headquarters of Dibang Valley district, from Itanagar to join the Mishmi community in celebrating the 52nd central Reh festival on February 1.
