Priyanka Chopra to speak at virtual summit on gender equality

The other female celebrities to speak at Girl Up Leadership Summit include international icons Meghan Markle and Michelle Obama

Guwahati: Actor Priyanka Chopra has been invited to be one of the speakers at the 'Girl Up Leadership Summit', a virtual summit on gender equality. The event is scheduled to be held from July 13th to 15th. 

"No matter their background, girls have the power to transform themselves, their communities, and the world around them. The other popular celebrities in the panel include the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle, former First Lady Michelle Obama, 2018 Noble Peace Prize winner Nadia Murad, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, and actor Jameela Jamil.

After Priyanka shared the news, her excited fans expressed their happiness on Twitter. "You're such an inspiration for young girls to look up to. You use your voice for good and always stand up for what's right. We need more people like you. I love you", wrote a Twitterati. Some of Priyanka's fans, in their excitement, even secured tickets for the event.

It needs mention here that Priyanka shares a close bonding with Meghan and even attended the Duchess's wedding to Prince Harry in 2018 in England.

Despite the lockdown days, Priyanka is having a pretty busy schedule. Recently she was appointed as one of the 50 ambassadors of Toronto International Film Festival. She shared a video of her empowering address at the TIFF, her second home according to her, on Instagram.
