202 road accidents recorded during Diwali across Assam

GUWAHATI: Amidst the Diwali celebrations on November 14 and 15, as many as 202 road accidents were recorded from all across the State.

According to data by Mrityunjoy 108 service, Kamrup (Metro) and Tinsukia topped the list with 17 cases each, followed by Darrang and Dhemaji with 15 cases each. While 13 cases were registered each in Cachar and Sonitpur, Kamrup Rural and Nagaon had 11 cases each. Dima Hasao and Karbi Anglong registered the least number of cases during the days with one case each. Among other districts, Dhubri and Sibasagar registered two cases each, Hailakandi and Dibrugarh had three cases, Chirang (4), Bongaigaon (4), Baksa (5), Morigaon (6), Karimganj (6), Jorhat (6), Lakhimpur (7), Golaghat (7), Barpeta (7), Nalbari (8), Goalpara (7) and Udalguri (10).
