24 Hour Nationwide Strike’s Impact Partial in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, Aug 7: The 24-hour nationwide strike called on Tuesday by the All India Motor Transport Organization (AIMTO) did not have much impact on traffic movement within the city.

However, there were lesser commercial vehicles on the roads. Throughout the day, Srimanta Sankardev Path (erstwhile GS Road) was busy as usual. In the meantime, the district administration provided extra buses keeping in mind the possible shortage of buses which could have hampered the government staffers.
