27 new AHSEC vocational courses from this academic session

GUWAHATI: In sync with the policy of self-reliance, the AHSEC (Assam Higher Secondary Education Council) is going to introduce 27 new vocational and skill development courses from this academic session.

The Council had a meeting on Wednesday in the presence of the top-level officials of the Skill Development department of the State government. The decision was taken at that meeting.

The 27 new subjects are – Agriculture, DTP-Computer Application, Front Office Operation Counter, Office Procedure and Practices, Fabrication Technology, Automotive, Electrical and Electronic Technology, Plumber, Financial Market Management, Banking, Marketing, Salesmanship, Insurance, Taxation, Cost Accounting, Horticulture, Silk, Animal Rearing, Tourism, Beauty and Wellness, Healthcare, Textile Designing, Food and Nutrition, Mass Communication, Yoga, Fishery and Hotel Management.

The Council said that all these are of one-year courses. The certificates for such courses will be acceptable at the all-India level.
