GUWAHATI: The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) on Tuesday decided to field its candidates in seven constituencies in Assam in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.
The decision in this regard was taken during a meeting of office-bearers of the party’s central committee at party headquarters at Hatigaon here on Tuesday. The constituencies are Dhubri, Barpeta, Karimganj, Silchar, Nagaon, Kaliabor and Mangaldoi. AIUDF chief Maulana Badruddin Ajmal told reporters that the party was earlier planning to field candidates in three constituencies. The latest decision was taken based on feedback from the district committees, he added.
