Anti-NRC Protest Continues at Kolkata Assam House

KOLKATA, Aug 7: Ever since the publication of draft NRC in Assam on July 30, the anti-NRC protests has been intensified across the state of neighboring West Bengal. Till Tuesday, the widespread protest, jointly triggered by the TMC, AAP and Hawkers Sangram Committee has turned the situation from bad to worse in West Bengal, more particularly in the state’s capital city Kolkata. Adding fuel to the ordeal, more than hundreds of activists of the Bengal Himam Parishad on Tuesday staged rigorous protest in front of the Assam House located at Russel Street, Kolkata shouting ‘NRC go back, include the 40 lakh excluded from the draft NRC etc’ slogans.
