GUWAHATI: The Asom Chatra Parishad (ACP), the student organization of the regional party Asom Gana Parishad has sent a memorandum to Union Minister of Human Resource and Development Ramesh Pokhriyal, Education Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma, and to the chairpersons of University Grant Commission raising the issue of the problems faced by the student community.

The student union demanded that the mode of exams should be offline only. They argued that there should not be any means of online exams since numerous students are either economically weaker or staying in the areas with poor or even no internet connection at all.

"There should be at least one month of proper offline classes before the exams since classes using Google classroom and WhatsApp are invalid and it does not have a proper teacher-student interaction", stated the ACP.

Mentioning about the condition of tremendous pressure and confusion faced by the students in this pandemic situation the student union demanded to release the exam dates one month before the commencement of the exams.

It might be mentioned here that after the university grant commission had released the revised guidelines on July 6 and UGC Standard Operating Procedure on July 8, the UGC are facing a lot of criticism across the State.
