Assam BJP celebrates birth anniversary of Deendayal Upadhyaya

GUWAHATI: The State BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) on Friday celebrated the 104th birthday anniversary of Deendayal Upadhyaya, one of the founders of Bharatiya Jana Sangha.

To celebrate the occasion, booth presidents of State BJP hoisted the party flag at their respective residents.

As a part of the programme, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal hoisted the party flag at 124 and 130 no. booths under Dispur constituency. Following the flag hoisting ceremony, Sonowal delivered a speech where he highlighted the contributions of Deendayal Upadhyaya to the society. He said, "Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya worked tirelessly to establish Sanatan ideology all across the world. We should keep on working under his ideology," Sonowal added.

State BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass hoisted flags in West Guwahati constituency's 221 and 279 no. booths. While addressing the party workers, Dass said Deendayal Upadhyaya's philosophy, deeds, and meditation will provide strength and inspiration to every generation. NEDA convernor and State Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also hoisted flag at 95 no. booth in Dharapur's and 82 no. booth in Azara.
