Assam Finance department assessing funds utilization status

GUWAHATI: The State Finance department is conducting strict scrutiny and assessment of the utilization of budgeted funds by all government departments in the current financial year (2019-20). The department is also analyzing the present financial position of the State Government and trying to predict how the position will turn in the next financial year (2020-21). Efforts are also made to have a clear idea about the possible financial assistance from the Central Government in the next fiscal year. On the other hand, the department is in full swing to prepare the State Budget for 2020-21 to be presented in the Assembly on March 4. Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will present the budget in the electronic format.
