Assam Governor congratulates Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardees

GUWAHATI: Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi congratulated artistes Jagannath Bayan, Ramkrishna Talukdar and Nuruddin Ahmed on being conferred on Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards for the year 2017. In a statement, Prof Mukhi said that Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards to dance exponent Jagannath Bayan for his contributions in Xattriya dance, Ramkrishna Talukdar for contemporary and experimental dance and art director Nuruddin Ahmed for his contributions to creative art form ‘is an honour’ and indeed a matter of pride and prestige to the people of Assam. Their achievements in their respective fields will definitely be a source of encouragement to the young generation in Assam and outside, a press release stated.
