Assam In For Showers During Next Few Days

GUWAHATI: According to data, Assam is due for showers for the coming few days. Regional Meteorology Department has forecast more than 20 mm of rain during the next 12 hours, followed by thunderstorm and lightning in certain areas.

The weather forecasts record: a minimum of 16°C and a maximum of 27°C on February 27, a minimum of 16°C and a maximum of 22°C on February 28, a minimum of 14°C and a maximum of 26°C on March 1, a minimum of 13°C and a maximum of 27°C on March 2.

Available data indicate that light to moderate rain occurred at most places over Arunachal Pradesh and a few places over Assam. Light rain occurred at a few places over Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura and dry weather prevailed over Meghalaya and Nagaland during last 24 hours. Lowest Minimum temperatures recorded 10.8°C at Imphal (Plains) and 6.2°C at Barapani (Hills). Night temperatures have no large change over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura and rose appreciably over Manipur and rose over Nagaland during last 24 hrs. Those were appreciably above normal over Manipur and Tripura and normal over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya during last 24 hrs.

Thundersquall with wind speed reaching upto 50 Kmph accompanied with hail is very likely to occur at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh , Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on February 28, 2019.
