Assam to Lose from NRC: Hojai MLA Shiladitya Dev

GUWAHATI, Sept 2: Know for his highly controversial Statements, BJP MLA from Hojai Shiladitya Dev is once again at the centre of another controversy with his comments on the NRC update process. The MLA has said that Assam will not make any gain from the NRC, but has a lot to lose. He said that the NRC has caused all development works to come to a standstill, while Rs 1,200 crore allotted for NRC update process has gone down the drain. Deb said that the NRC has only provided the Bangladeshi Muslims to become Indian citizens, adding that it will not provide any protection to the Assamese people, but would only ruin them.
