Bangladesh envoy focuses on air, water and land connectivity

GUWAHATI, Oct 12: The Assistant High Commission of Bangladesh in Guwahati organized its 4th ‘Development Fair’ of the Government of Bangladesh along with a seminar on “Opportunities for Enhancing Bangladesh-India Relationship’ on the basis of the development initiatives taken up by the Government of Bangladesh here on October 11.

Notably, development fairs have been organized across all the diplomatic missions of Bangladesh abroad.

During the function, the envoy of Bangladesh to Assam Dr Tanvir presented various development indicators and the trajectory of graduation of Bangladesh from least developed country to middle income country. He underscored connectivity in all modes like air, water and land for further enhancement of economic cooperation between Bangladesh and India.

The Chief Secretary of the State Government of Assam Alok Kumar, attended the programme as the Chief Guest, while Professor Dr. Sanjay Bharadwaj of Jawaharlal Nehru University delivered his speech as the Keynote Speaker.

DG of Assam Police attended the programme as the guest of honour. Additional Chef Secretary of the Department of Industry and Commerce Ravi Kapoor elaborated the importance of Bangladesh in implementing the agenda of the Act East Policy.
