BJP Assam Pradesh denies corruption allegation against Chief Minister’s Office

GUWAHATI: Rejecting outright Congress and AIUDF’s allegations that the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) is the epicentre of corruption, the BJP Assam Pradesh said on Sunday that the allegations are baseless and levelled with an ulterior motive. Talking to the media in Guwahati on Sunday, State BJP spokesperson Rupam Goswami said: “The BJP is set to perform better in the just concluded Lok Sabha poll in Assam, and the Congress and the AIUDF are scared of it. They’re frustrated for their certain failure. Such a situation has prompted them to level baseless allegations against the CMO. If the Congress and the AIUDF have any concrete evidence or information with them, what prevent them from handing the evidence to the CMO or the CID? In such a situation, an inquiry can be conducted and the necessary action taken. However, instead of doing that they’ve taken to falsehood to mislead the people. We condemn such an act.”
