BJP Assam Pradesh’s Membership Drive From July 6

Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI: The BJP Assam Pradesh is on the job to make its mission 100 a success as the party is going to start its membership drive from July 6, the birthday of the party’s ideologue Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.

The BJP in the State has set the target of winning 100 seats in 2021 Assembly election. Such an ambitious target of the BJP-led alliance in the State has its origin in the recently-held office-bearers’ meeting of the central BJP committee in New Delhi where party president Amit Shah asked all state committees of the party to start their membership drive from July 6.

Meanwhile, a five-member supervisory committee has been formed by State BJP to supervise the membership drive. The committee has Vijay Gupta as the state supervisor, Dipluranjan Sarma and Amiya Das as assistant supervisor, and Nabanita Handique and Debanoi Sanyal as members.

Against the target of 80+ seats in 2016 Assembly elections, while the BJP alone won 61 seats, its allies AGP got 14 seats, BPF 12 seats and Janashakti 1.
