BSNL making presence felt more in Assam

GUWAHATI, July 17: “BSNL Assam has launched many new broadband and FTTH plans at unbelievable prices supporting Digital India activities and also to bridge the rural-urban digital divide in Assam. Every month, we are adding one lakh new numbers in the Assam circle only. Our market share has also increased in the recent months,” said BSNL, Assam Circle Chief General Manager, Sandip Govil while addressing the reporters in Guwahati on Tuesday.

The BSNL Assam Circle also launched its VOIP (Voice Over Internet Telephony) “Wings” on Tuesday. This service using Mobile Numbering scheme is being provided using IP-based access network of IMS NGN Core switches. Govil explained, “To use this service, a customer needs to install the “Wings app” on any smart mobile handset or tablet having internet to make and receive calls from anywhere in India and abroad with any mobile number.”

Govil further added that these plans would suite requirements of all customers in fulfilling their ever increasing data demands. “The customers can now avail new broadband connections with unlimited data download and upload per month and 24 hours unlimited free calling facility to any network in India starting from Rupees 99 per month. These promotional plans are launched for a period of 90 days”, he pointed out.

The General Manager G Murali Krishna gave a presentation on the new disruptive plans of BSNL, Assam in the meeting. The Chief General Manager, Broadband Network, V Munindranath was also present in the meeting.
