Chipped Materials of Idol Recovered By Latasil Police

GUWAHATI: Latasil police and Mukalmua police jointly conducted a raid at the residence of the father-in-law of the robbers Adil Ali and Rahul Ali, who were involved in the Ugratara Devalaya idol theft. Seven beads of the mundamala and part of the snake’s head which were chipped away from the goddess idol were recovered from the house, stowed away inside a showcase. Reportedly, Adil Ali had hidden the items there. However, few other chipped away items that the goddess held in her hand are still missing. The recovered materials were produced before the CJM court and later handed over to the committee members of the devalaya.
