Coronavirus case in Guwahati signaling a surge as three tested positive

GUWAHATI: The COVID cases in the Assam are scaling high and on Monday, three positive cases were linked to the Aloo Godam Fancy Bazar, where a worker was tested positive.

Out of the three positive people, two are a father-daughter duo who are residents of Bhootnath Bihari Patty. According to sources at the Health Department, they were infected from a person from Bisnupur who contracted the virus from Mangru Sahani, the worker of the Aloo Godam.

If the dots are connected, the cases linked to the Aloo Godam are increasing at a compound rate. Another concern which has arised is that the Bihari Patty area where the infected duo resides is very congested. Home to around 500 people, the area is compact with houses attached to one another. Meanwhile, the Health Department officials have started to take samples from its residents and the area has been declared as a containment zone.
