Cotton University teachers donate one-day salary to Relief Fund of Assam Government

GUWAHATI: The teaching fraternity of Cotton University (CU) will donate one day salary to the Relief Fund of State Government, to boost the fight against COVID-19.

The teaching fraternity expressed their satisfaction towards the State government for their actions to tackle the outbreak of COVID-19. The body appealed to the people of the State to cooperate in ‘this fight’. The teaching fraternity further expressed their interest to cooperate with the government and said that they are ready to help and work with the state government and the people of Assam to tackle the global pandemic.

The teachers have already expressed their interest in a letter to the Health and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. It is to be mentioned that many of the teachers are already distributing food items to the needy, individually. President Dr. Suresh Kumar Nath and Secretary Dr. Ruma Talukdar of Cotton University Teachers’ Association expressed their gratitude for the generosity showed by the teaching fraternity of the varsity.
