COVID-19 Lockdown: Door-to-door sell of fish in Guwahati from April 10, Friday

The Kamrup (Metro) district administration, has, as a part of its COVID-19 precautionary measures, allowed to door-to-door sale of local fish in Guwahati from April 10, Friday. Informing this concerned Additional Deputy Commissioner said in a press release that the door-to-door sale of the fish will continue till the end of the on-going nationwide lockdown, clamped by the Central Government to contain the unprecedented menace created by the new coronavirus. The release also stated that the Rupnagar outlet of FISHFED will be available for all nearby residents. The staff must maintain all the protocols of containment of COVID-19 including the social distancing norms. On the other hand, the wholesalers will bring fish to three points: Uzanbazar, Pandu and Bhetapara through vehicles permitted by the State Fishery Department and FISHFED, from which the door-to-door delivery persons will collect their quantity. The wholesalers must ensure that the process of handing over fish delivery persons will be completed by 7 am daily, the release said. It directed all the vendors to sell only fresh and hygienic fish. The fish will be sold at rates fixed by FISHFED. The rates will be as follows:

Sol, Sal and Kawoi will not be sold for more than Rs 450/kg.

Bhangon and Mirika weighing less than 200 gm will not be sold for more than Rs 250/ kg.

Grass carp, Silver carp and Common carp weighing less than 1 kg will not be sold for more than Rs 250/ kg.

Grass carp, Silver carp and Common carp weighing more than 1 kg will not be sold for more than Rs 300/kg.

Rohu, Catla and Mirika weighing less than 1 kg will not be sold for more than Rs 300 per/kg.

Rohu, Catla and Mirika weighing between 1-2 kg will not be sold for more than Rs 350/ kg.

Rohu, Catla and Mirika weighing more than 2 kg will not be sold for more than Rs 400/ kg.
