Crime against women alarming

GUWAHATI, July 18: Expressing deep concern on the recent rapes and murders in trains of the 21-year old student of Assam Agriculture University and another 48-year old woman in the state, the Brihattar Narengi Tai Ahom Mohila Parishad said that crimes against women folk has been quite alarming. As a measure to reduce the phenomenon, the women body of the community demanded the trial of both the cases in the fast track court besides awarding stringent punishment to the culprits involved. They also urged the NFR authority to ensure safety and security of the women in the train.
