Crimes In Guwahati City: Three Arrested In Multi-Crore Scam from Udalguri

GUWAHATI: Three contractors were arrested by CID (Crime Investigation Department) from Udalguri over a 2012 suicide case of an Irrigation Department officer Mathura Ch Nath following a multi-crore scam. The contractors identified as Baglali, Sutradhar and Khatuwal had allegedly offered a bribe of Rs 13 lakh to the deceased for an Irrigation Department contract of Rs 3,12,00,000. Gauhati Court has ordered the CID to proceed with the interrogation. So far, a total of eight people have been caught in this regard.
