Crude oil tanker seized by Basistha Police

GUWAHATI: An oil tanker (AS01FC9011) was seized on Tuesday evening at Karbi Anglong carrying crude oil and on the way to Silchar at Jorabat by Basistha Police. The documents produced were discovered to be fake and a case 169 / 19 U/S 120 (B) / 379 / 468 / 471 IPC, R/W section 33 of Indian Petroleum Act and R/W 3 of PDPP Act has been registered. The driver Moni Mohan Singh from Lakhipur, Chacchar has been produced before CJM and awarded 7 days in judicial custody.
