GUWAHATI: Various organizations, including the Kaliprasad Darshan and the Bishnupriya Manipuri Writers’ Forum, (BMWF) Guwahati condoled the death of noted litterateur Kalasena Sinha, the president of the Nikhil Bishnupriya Manipuri Sahitya Sabha.
Kalasena Sinha, a poet and dramatist, breathed his last at a hospital in Bengaluru recently. He had been under treatment there. He leaves behind two sons and a daughter.
Born on April 1, 1949 at a village in Durlabcherra in Karimganj district Late Sinha did scale a height in his literary sojourn, apart from social works. His father is Late Hurkangsou and mother is Chandrakala Devi. Late Hurkangsou was also inclined to literature.
The Kaliprasad Darshan remembered the late writer for his oeuvre of literature comprising mainly poetry and dramas. His demise is an irreparable loss for the society, both in the field of literature and social works. Kaliprasad Darshan conveyed its ampathy to the bereaved family members.
Condoling the death of the litterateur, BMWF president DILS Lakshmindra Sinha said: “It’s the fall of a star. He is a writer, social leader, organizer all rolled into one. The void created by his death will be difficult to fill.”
