Demand for arrest of Tai Ahom Development Council  chairman

GUWAHATI: A member of the Tai Ahom Development Council (TADC) has filed a case (1658/20 under Section 120 (B)/420/468/471) at Dispur Police Station alleging swindling of Council's funds. The member has raised the demand for immediate arrest of the Chairman and the Vice Chairman of the Council.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, TADC member Amrit Kumar Chetia said, "In fiscal 2017-18 Rs 37.20 lakh was released for the development of the Tai Ahom community in the State. However, bulk of the amount was swindled. We, therefore, demand immediate arrest of TADC Chairman Dhiren Gogoi and Vice Chairman Ajay Kumar Borgohain in connection with the swindling of funds." Sadou Asom Ahom Sabha (AAAS) in-charge president Uma Kanta Konwar also raised the demand for the arrest of the TADC Chairman and Vice Chairman.
