GUWAHATI: The Assam state committee of Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) protested at Chachal on Thursday. They demanded that the problem of unemployment has created major problems that need to be solved. Also, the problems with education, health, flood erosion, roads etc., should be solved.

DYFI president Rustom Ali and secretary Rituranjan Das said that the state government could not take tangible measures to keep its commitment of providing jobs to the unemployed youth numbering over 30 lakh.

The education system has gone down, and there are institutions that still run with one teacher or no teacher. The government deceived the teachers working in venture educational institutions by stopping them from provincialising their posts.

Whatever promises the government made to solve the problems of flood-ridden areas or erosion, have not been fulfilled. In other states along with Guwahati, the pollution has also gone up to a higher level. They have also demanded that teachers must be appointed on the basis of classrooms.

Their demands also include the elimination of job examination fee, ensuring free and fair appointment through the employment exchange. Also, a stipend of Rs 6,000 should be given to a person till he/she gets employed.
