GUWAHATI: Information & Public Relations Minister Pijush Hazarika launched the audio news bulletin — Janasanjog Batori — for the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) here on Friday.

It is to be noted that the 'Janasanjog Batori' will be broadcast by the DIPR through the Fixed Loudspeaker System (FLS).

Addressing the media, Pijush Hazarika said, "There are a total of 1,600 fixed loudspeakers under the DIPR across the urban and rural areas of the State. However, in many areas, these FLS are not being used. The DIPR is planning to install 700 more fixed loudspeakers in the days ahead. Through the FLS, the news will be broadcast every day at 9:30 am and 6:30 pm."

Hazarika said that the main aim of the 'Janasanjog Batori' is to make the public aware of the various schemes and initiatives implemented by the government.

"In the initial stage, Janasanjog Batori will be recorded twice a week which will be broadcast every day. When I proposed this initiative to the Chief Minister, he underlined that the news shouldn't be biased. Moreover, if the listeners think that the broadcast news is not accurate then they can also register a complaint," said Hazarika.

The launching ceremony was attended by DIPR Director Anupam Choudhury, Chief Minister's Chief Press Secretary Dhurba Mahanta, among other officials.
