Disaster management training for volunteers of Lohit District, Arunachal Pradesh

GUWAHATI: A 12 days AAPDA MITRA Training for volunteers of Lohit District, Arunachal Pradesh was inaugurated on 7 January 2019 by Pallab Bhattacharyya, IPS, Director General of Civil Defence and Commandant General of Home Guards at Central Training Institute, Civil Defence and Home Guards, Panikhaiti. Total 51 volunteers of AAPDA MITRA have participated in the training programme.

The objective of the training is to train community volunteers at the district level in flood rescue operation in order to build capacities for organizing AAPDA MITRA (Flood Response Team) during the Flood and Earthquake Disaster or any kind of natural calamities or challenges to mitigate the disastrous situation of the people stated a press release.
