Dowry case registered in Noonmati police station

GUWAHATI: A case of love gone sour was reported on Thursday, when one Indrajit Roy of Noonmati, Bamunimaidam Railway colony called off his marriage after a dowry demand was denied. The marriage date was set on March 13 while the couple had an engagement on Wednesday. Roy reportedly was courting his fiancée since 4 years and demanded Rs 2 lakh as dowry after the ceremony. A case (85 / 19 / 120 B / 387 / 420) was registered at Noonmati police station in this regard and Roy has been taken into police custody.
