Ex-Assam Agricultural University faculty claims new method to treat corona patients

GUWAHATI: Former Associate Professor of the Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Khanapara Dr. Birendra Kumar Bhattacharyya has introduced a line of treatment for COVID-19 patients based on boosting self-immunity.

According to his line of treatment, the patient should be completely dipped in a mild potash permanganate solution (or any other disinfective solution) up to shoulder for 3-4 minutes then rubbed with a sterilized towel and made ready for blood collection aseptically.

Further, the doctor/nurse has to take 4 ml venous blood from already prepared hand with aseptic measures. The blood sample is to be shaken gently for 3-4 times with syringe itself then should be injected by deep intramuscular method preferably in the gluteal muscles. The injections should be given every alternate day for five days and the patient will show improvement after three to four injections, the professor claimed. According to a release, the treatment has successfully been used in animals for viral infection like warts, papiloma etc.
