FIR against fake news about non-opening of schools on Whatsapp

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has asked the Assam Police to file an FIR (First Information Report) against person(s) who have circulated a fake message on Whatsapp.

The CM's tweet says, "A fake announcement, purportedly issued from my Twitter account, about non-opening of schools is being circulated on WhatsApp.

"This is a fake message and should not be given heed to. Assam Police, please file an FIR."
