Gauhati High Court seeks details on 'PMKSNS' scam

STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI: Hearing the PIL (Public Interest Litigation) – 73/2020 filed by the NGO (Non-Government Organization) – the Amguri Naba Nirman Samity, on the alleged "widescale misuse of funds" in implementing the PMKSNS (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme), the Gauhati High Court has directed the Government of Assam and 10 others to file a detailed affidavit within four weeks.

This direction was given by the Bench comprising Chief Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia and Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak.

Mentionably, the Government Counsel (representing the respondents) — in its counter affidavit — had already admitted that these anomalies did occur. However, the Counsel did not apprise the Court as to what action had been taken. The Court will again hear the case on September 21, 2021.
