New Railway Hospital building inaugurated at Lumding

GUWAHATI: To further improve railway network in Manipur, Anshul Gupta, General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway on Wednesday,inspected Jiribam station in Manipur. The General Manager conducted follow-up inspection of Minister of State of Railways, Coal & Mine Raosaheb Patil Danve who recently conducted inspection of various project sites of the ongoing Jiribam – Imphal new BG railway line project.

The General Manager was accompanied by the Divisional Railway Manager of Lumding division J. S. Lakra and senior railway officers during inspection. During inspection of Jiribam station, he discussed about measures for introduction of more trains, improvement of safety and passenger amenities.

It may be mentioned that passenger train service was re-introduced between Jiribam of Manipur and Silchar of Assam during last month to fulfil long standing requirement of the people of Manipur.

The General Manager visited Jiribam goods shed and discussed about further improvement of freight business. He also conducted window trailing inspection between Jiribam and Lumding.

In the course of his inspection, Anshul Gupta, the General Manager inaugurated the new building of Divisional Railway Hospital at Lumding. The new building named as "Rail Sanjeevani" has been dedicated to the division by the General Manager in the presence of Shri G. K. Chakraborty, Principal Chief Medical Director, N. F. Railway and Shri J. S. Lakra, Divisional Railway Manager. The building has been provided with fire hydrant to mitigate the threat of fire hazard. An oxygen plant of 100 LPM has been installed first time in N. F. Railway which will provide direct supply of oxygen to the patient in the wards, stated a press release signed by Guneet Kaur, CPRO, NFR.
