GMC forms teams to inspect illegal parking of vehicles in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) officials conducted a survey regarding illegal parking, loading/unloading of vehicles at Panbazar, Fancy Bazar, Machkhowa and Athgaon.

The teams were constituted zone wise: Team 1 inspected the Central Zone, Team 2 for West Zone and Team 3 for South Zone.

GMC collector Navadeep Changmai is the overall in-charge of the team and GMC Deputy Commissioner of concerned zones are the team leaders. The team comprises of officials from respective divisions, zones and enforcement branch.

While team one inspected a total of 79 shops in MG Road, Kedar road, and TRP road, Team 2 inspected 19 shops in FA road, HB road, and Kedar road.

Meanwhile, Team three inspected 80 shops in SS road.

According to a report by the GMC, the teams checked loading/unloading of goods by the shops, Trade licenses and placing of dustbins. "Majority of shops in SS road didn't have up-to-date trade license. They are directed to renew the same immediately. Action will be initiated if they fail to renew the licenses," said the report.
