Gorchuk Police Arrested Three Drug Peddlers, Cash Rs 9,890 Seized in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: As the extensive drive against drugs continues in the State of Assam, Gorchuk Police arrested three drug peddlers including a woman from Bathoupuri behind ISBT, Betkuchi on Friday evening. The city police based on a special tip-off came to know about the illegal peddling of drugs going on at Bathoupuri in Betkuchi.

Further in the search operation in a rented room suspect drugs was recovered from under the sleeping mattress.

Meanwhile, the police apprehended three persons identified as Must Belowa Begum (35), Md Amir Ali (33) and Dwipen Barman (25) from the spot.

Notably, 10 (ten) small plastic containers containing suspected drugs along with one syringe and cash Rs 9,890 was also seized. The total weight of the suspected drugs found to be 1.35 grams. All the said persons were apprehended were brought to Gorchuk Police station along with the seized suspected drugs and a case vide Garchuk PS Case No- 358/2021, U/S- 22 (a) NDPS Act was registered. On the other hand, Jalukbari police arrested 3 drug peddlers and they have been identified as Rajib Ali Ranjit Sonar from Garigaon and recovered brown sugar weighing 10 gram. Further Jiten Das of Kamakhya Gate was also apprehended and 10 grams of suspected brown sugar was recovered from him.
