Assam Governor Professor Jagdish Mukhi paid tribute to the cultural doyen Dr. Bhupen Hazarika on his 94th birth anniversary.

GUWAHATI: Assam Governor Professor Jagdish Mukhi paid tribute to the cultural doyen Dr. Bhupen Hazarika on his 94^th birth anniversary.

According to a release, Professor Mukhi said, "Sudhakantha Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika sang for humanity and each of his songs sent a message to strengthen the amity and bonhomie existing among different sections of people in our society."

He also said that the birth anniversary of the 'Bard' known for his baritone voice and flawless diction will definitely encourage and inspire many in the world of culture.
