Guidelines for refund of passengers railway tickets cancellations

Revised guidelines of cancellations of tickets and refund of fares due to COVID-19 situation have been further liberalized

GUWHATI: Revised guidelines on the subject of cancellations of tickets and refund of fares due to COVID – 19 situations have been further liberalized.

* Refund rules for PRS counter generated tickets for trains cancelled by railways:

For tickets booked in PRS counters for journeys with effect from March 21 till resumption of services; refund can be claimed across counters on submission of tickets up to 6 months from the date of journey.

* Refund rules for E-tickets for trains cancelled by railways:

Auto refund will be made for all trains cancelled by railways.

Refund for trains not cancelled, but passenger does not want to perform journey:

As a special case full refund for both PRS counter generated tickets and E-tickets will be made.

*Refund rules for PRS counter generated tickets for trains not cancelled by railways:

Passenger can file the TDR within 6 months from the date of journey at the station and submit the detailed TDR within next 60 days to the office of the Chief Claims Officer for getting full refund subject to verification.

*For E-tickets, online cancellations and refund facility is available.
