Guwahati Kabarstans open for COVID-19 dead bodies' funeral

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Yuba-Nagarik Samiti (GJNS) has welcomed the gesture of the eight Guwahati Kabarstan samitis to open kabarstans for the burial of COVID-19 deceased's bodies. In a statement issued to the media on Sunday, GJNS president Kailash Sarma and general secretary Rajesh Sarma said that at a time when there are hue and cries regarding the funeral of the bodies of COVID-19 deceased, the decision taken by the kabarstan committees of the city is indeed praiseworthy. The samiti has also appealed to various cremation committees of the State to take similar decisions.
