Guwahati Police arrested 19 drug peddlers, suspected heroin seized

GUWAHATI: Guwahati Police has arrested 19 drug peddlers/supplies besides the recovery of various drugs like suspected heroin, brown sugar, Codeine syrup bottle in the past one month. 
Addressing the media here on Friday, Guwahati Police Commissioner MP Gutpa said, "We're committed towards a drug-free society. In the last one month leading up to the International Day against Drugs, Guwahati Police has launched a strong drive against drugs and arrested drug peddlers/suppliers from different parts of Guwahati and its neighbouring districts as well. During the operation, 19 persons were arrested. We also recovered 215.11 gm suspected brown sugar and heroin worth approximately Rs 21.50 lakh, 4,800 Codeine Syrup bottles worth Rs 8 lakh, Rs 2,76,220 cash, six vehicles and 176 Nexa Spavar Suspected Drugs tablet etc."
