Guwahati to Host 7th Edition of Eastern Himalayan Naturenomics Forum

GUWAHATI: With the macroscopic theme of Rural Futures: Nature Capital Towards Universal Basic Assets the 7th edition of Eastern Himalayan Naturenomics Forum 2019 is all set to capture the need for a nature-centered economy to support holistic growth of communities, as well as conserving biodiversity and natural resources. After six successful editions, this 7th edition is going to be held in the city on November 5 and 6.

Addressing the press at Guwahati Press Club on Friday, the organizers said that the objective of the forum is to understand and discuss possible ways to create a system for enhancing natural capital and sustainable liquidation processes to build universal basic assets among vulnerable forest-fringe communities. The forum will be followed by Balipara Foundation Social Recognition awards to recognize and accolade Earth Heroes.

The Eastern Himalayan Naturenomics Forum 2019 organized by Balipara Foundation will witness around 60 eminent personalities from multidisciplinary fields and across 17 countries will engage in the discourse on nature capital and its impact on universal basic assets. The speakers to attend the forum includes Ambassador Chandrashekhar Dasgupta, Prime Minister’s Council for Climate Change, India; renowned historian and author Rudrangshu Mukherjee, chancellor, Professor of History at Ashoka University; Vance Martin, Vice President of Wild Foundation USA and many other eminent personalities from different discourse.
